Thanks to all of our supporters! The horse auction was an intense few days… I found out that kill buyers only offer minimal amounts when bidding. For this auction the amounts were relatively high. I believe the least expensive horse was $600. We stayed for all the horses, I believe 89.We did not buy any for Old Friends, since they all went for large amounts, usually around $1000
Many of you donated for the purpose of ‘buying’ one that would have ended up poorly. We hope you will allow Old Friends to keep these donations. About 25 of the horses in that herd never came to auction as they were too ill. At some point I suspect they will come to auction. There is another Auction on Apr 24. We plan to be there..
However, should you wish your donation returned, we certainly understand. Please message me directly and I will see to it.
Again, thank you to all those who have volunteered to come help with our Old Friends. The numbers are on the rise and I plan to do another orientation this weekend!
