Riley
Riley was rescued at an auction. From what we know he had a life as a ranch horse but something happened and he was sent away to be “fixed”. The fixing didn’t work so he was off to be sold. We are so thankful he was rescued because he was at very high risk of entering the slaughter pipeline. In addition to whatever needed fixing, he is also blind in one eye. Riley was so frightened of people he spent the first six months living at the farrier’s so he could learn to allow to have his hooves trimmed. When he arrived at Old Friends Canada he was so shut down he spent the next six months hiding in the corner of his shelter. We are very pleased with the progress Riley has made and hope he is learning to heal his spirit.
